- 22.10.2007 Never give in, never falter
The drums are recorded! We're soon going to sit down with the drummer and
recorder guys and select the cream of the crop in the parts that have multiple
takes. After that, it's only vocals and synth sounds (+ some final synth
arrangements).
- 26.04.2007 A little update
Since the last update, we've managed to record the following:
- Drums to four songs out of seven
- Screaming and growling vocals to one and a half more songs
- Some of the spoken word parts
I perhaps might be making a bit of an overstatement here, but it seems that we will
actually be releasing this record one day. Our new session drummer is Patrik from
the secular black metal band Born of thorns,
and I must say that I've been most pleased with his progress so far.
The reader can feel himself or herself free to consider the following to be marketing
speech, but after almost three years of recording, I nowadays am quite pleased with the
songs. We've produced them with a relatively harsh hand, cutting off branches of songs,
parts and melodies that we've considered to be unfit either to the songs or to the central
theme of the record. The soundscape that we've been able to achieve with our good
recorder/mixer/sound engineer Thomas Mattsson has consistently exceeded my expectations.
Unless we manage to screw something up in the final mixing/mastering stage, I would
expect a reasonably professional sounding record.
About splitting up - we haven't decided anything final yet. If, contrary to all laws of
probability and every painful second of past experiences, we would manage to assemble a
new line-up, we might as well continue tormenting ourselves with the burden of bleak
wailing.

P.S. Virgin black was nothing short of amazing live. Hail them.
- 03.03.2007 Studio news
Tomorrow we're starting the real drum recordings.
- 29.10.2006 Studio news
We are not known for frequent updates, nor are we well-known for recording
things in haste, but if there is anyone interested in our matters out there,
here's something for you.
We have recorded so far all of the following:
- Guitars
- Bass guitars
- Synths
- Most of the screaming vocals
- Approximately 50% of the clean vocals
The eagle-eyed reader might notice, that there's one very crucial part missing,
but we assure that we're doing everything to make sure things don't stay
that way.
We are, as those who have followed our career know, comically slow in
recording anything. With this in mind, we refuse to reveal any sort of
release date in advance. So, "have you stopped recording?", someone might ask.
No, quite the contrary, we've been more active recently than for a good while.
It's not a secret now that due to several expected and unexpected things that
we have experienced during this recording process, we essentially are on the
verge of splitting up, but not before we have finished giving birth to this
painful child of ours, the new full-length.
I sincerely don't know if it will be good or not - after having heard the
songs for a gazillion times, I have severe problems with hearing the forest
for the trees. I suppose that, as always, it will be up to the listeners to
decide.
Some of you might have heard about this compilation called "Seal the abyss",
to which we recorded one song. Well, if anyone ever has seen a real copy of
the compilation, we would surely be interested in seeing it or hearing about
it. Then again, never mind that, the song that we recorded was pretty low
quality.
